California Worker’s Compensation Reforms
This workshop provides information on the statutory reforms of California’s workers’ compensation laws and their impact on the employer. Participants will learn about various strategies that can be adopted to take advantage of these reforms. Specific issues discussed include medical control and the use of return-to-work programs to reduce costs.

Understanding the Workers’ Compensation Claims Process
This workshop provides a behind-the-scenes look at how a claim is handled from beginning to end. Participants are introduced to the affirmative defenses as well as the judicial rules and doctrines that govern the acceptance or denial of an injury claim. In addition, this workshop covers the five basic forms of benefits in the workers’ compensation system.

Workers’ Compensation Fraud and Investigations
This workshop provides participants with a better understanding of the various types of fraud in the workers’ compensation system (applicant, physician, attorney, claims handler, and employer). Participants are introduced to various strategies that can be implemented to adopt a zero-tolerance program for workers’ compensation fraud. In addition, this workshop highlights the difference between fraud and abuse.

Developing and Implementing Return-to-Work Programs
This workshop highlights the costs involved with lost time from work due to occupational injury and how formal return-to-work programs can work at reducing both direct and indirect costs. This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the tools needed to develop these programs, including return-to-work contracts and essential function job descriptions.

Integrated Disability Management
This workshop provides participants with a greater insight into the various voluntary and statutory benefits that are available to employees who are out on disability. 

Employment Practice Issues and Case Law Impact
This workshop provides participants with the basic understanding of various Federal and California employment protection laws. Participants will learn about basic tenants of the law, current case law and interpretation, as well as application of the law in the workplace. 

Sexual Harassment Training
This highly interactive workshop is compliant with California law AB1825, relative to supervisor and management training.  Participants will learn what constitutes harassment in general, as well as sexual harassment specifically. Through the use of case scenarios participants will learn about Federal and State sexual harassment laws, prevention and correction strategies, and the remedies available to victims. 
Administering the Overlapping Leave Acts

Administering the Overlapping Leave Acts
This hands-on workshop utilizes a case study model to introduce participants to the various leave acts (Federal and State) and their interaction with other voluntary leave benefits provided by the employer. Participants learn about the distinctions between Federal and State leave laws. Participants will receive sample employee handbook language and sample leave letters.
